FRIGHT NIGHT - NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM SATURDAY 2ND AUGUST 2008 (27 Jun 2008) People are being offered the chance to spend the night ghost-hunting with paranormal experts. The Hull Company - Most Haunted Nites - is hosting a spooky night in an underground RAF bunker near Withernsea. Half the proceeds will go to the Hull Daily Mail's Charity of the Year 2008 - The Hull Animal Welfare Trust in South Cave.
Most Haunted Nites is a paranormal investigative group that has been running for three years.
Organiser Steve Kneeshaw is hoping businesses in the area will also join in the fun.
The spooky event is at RAF Holmpton in an underground bunker. Once the lights are out, deep underground with nowhere to run you can hear the footsteps and voices of ghostly airmen and women that roam the many rooms.
You will be underground with a paranormal expert and psychics to uncover the ghostly goings on
Those signing on for this event will be taken to the bunker for a glass of champagne and nibbles before the fun begins.
From there they will have a guided tour
Then it's lights out and doors locked so no one can do a runner.
After a buffet it's back to some more ghost hunting until the night ends at 3am.
For more information or to book please call 0870 8031866

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge completed 28th June 2008 (02 Jul 2008) Amy, our assistant manager, completed the gruelling challenge to raise money for our centre.
Her day started on Saturday at 3am with a drive to a central point at Ribbleshead Car Park where on meeting with 20 walkers started the climb of 2273 feet up Pen-y-ghent. This is the most difficult of the three peaks, made no easier by the fog that descended. About three quarters of the way up the winds picked up and heavy rain fell, Amy climbed on her hands and knees for fear of being blown off!
After surviving the first climb and amidst beautiful countryside Amy crossed bog and stream to the second peak of Whernside, the highest peak at 2414 ft. This was the lunch stop and Amy took on board all the high energy food she could (this is no different to any other day as she is always filling her face)
Onward and upward, Amy informs us that although this is a longer climb it is easier than the last one and half way up took a break to view a beautiful waterfall, so beautiful in fact she's completely forgotten the name of it! Again thick fog descended and even at the top all she could see was a hand infront of her face.
After a quick descent she is back to trekking across country to Ingleborough at 2373 feet the middle size one. Another difficult climb up vertical rocks but this time on reaching the sumit the fog had cleared and Amy got her first paroramic view of the beautful countryside.
On the last leg now, after 24 miles of trekking and climbing a total of 7060 feet, a drive home, sore feet, aching limbs, Amy reached home at 1900 hours and at 2015 hours was at the pub celebrating a wedding! Who could beat that.
Amy hopes to raise £1000 for The Hull Animal Welfare Trust.
W E L L D O N E T H A T G I R L !!!!!
(She was rubbish at work the next day though) |
